This week's sky

A Week That Asks for Patience

Week of September 28 to October 4

The week closes on Sunday 4 October with the Sun directly across the sky from Saturn, the planet often linked with limits and slow, patient work. An opposition simply means the two sit at facing points, pulling in different directions. In ordinary days this can feel like a gap between what you want to do and what the moment allows, a sense of a wall or a heavy hour. It tends to reward doing one real thing well rather than chasing everything at once.

The week begins on Monday 28 September as Mars, the planet of drive and effort, moves into Leo. Energy wants to be seen and spent, and it can help to point it at something you actually care about rather than letting it scatter.

On Wednesday 30 September, Mercury, linked with talking and thinking, enters Scorpio. Words go deeper and less casual. You may find yourself wanting the honest version of a conversation, and quieter about the small talk around it.

Friday 2 October brings Mercury at a square to both Mars and Pluto. A square is a ninety degree angle, a kind of friction between planets. Thoughts and words can come out sharper than intended, and a disagreement may reach further under the surface than it first appears. Slowing down before you send or say something is worth the pause.

Saturday 3 October carries two turns. Mars stands opposite Pluto, a facing-off that can feel like a test of will or a stubborn standoff, and pushing harder rarely helps here. On the same day Venus, linked with affection and value, stations retrograde in Scorpio, meaning it appears to move backward for a while. Old feelings, old people, and questions about what you truly want may circle back for another look.

Hold the week gently: let the friction pass through without gripping it, and give the slower, honest work the time it asks for.
